We've gotten tons of snow this week, and it's been so fun to see Ethan's reaction to it all. Last winter he was exposed to plenty of snow in Utah, but he was too little to enjoy any of it. This year, we happen to live at the bottom of a perfect sledding hill so we introduced him to the joy of sledding and making snow balls. I thought he might be a little unsure about the sledding, but he loved it! Nate and I took turns taking him down the hill, but a few times he rode by himself down our driveway.

I'm so glad that our little boy loves his bathtime! It doesn't matter how bad the meltdown gets in the evening, as soon as we put him in the bath we all experience a good 30 minutes of good times again! Ethan would probably spend 2 hours in there if we let him! Here's an edited shot, you have to be here in person to see how cute his little tush really is!

Ethan has recently started pulling up one of the stools in the kitchen so he can stand next to me at the counter and see what I'm up to. A few weeks ago he learned the secret that the best part of cookies is really the cookie dough! He grabbed a huge fistful out of the mixer and started licking it until only a gooey mess remained. If it wasn't so funny to watch his sheer joy at how good it tasted I would have been disgusted!

Ethan and I take every chance we can get to go for walks outside, as long as it's not raining. So I made sure to get him some warm gear a few weeks ago and he hasn't even tried tearing off the hat or gloves like I thought he would. I guess he realizes the benefit of staying warm! The pictures of him eating the apple was taken in the orchard in my parent's backyard. There's nothing like a fresh apple right off the tree!

Well, we thought we'd be rid of our raccoons once the cold weather hit, but we were wrong! We've spotted at least 5 that roam through the neighborhood day and night and occasionally get in vicious fights with our neighbor's dog late at night. Probably competing for the dog's food. So, the other night I was getting ready for bed and I heard scratching at the french doors that lead to the deck off our bedroom. I called Nate for backup (these guys kind of give me the willys) and sure enough, when he pulled up the curtains there was our fuzzy little friend trying to find a way in the doors. A few minutes later another one showed up and they stayed around for 15 minutes or so just looking at us through the windows or chewing on my jump rope and flip flops that I'd left out there. Despite Nate's belief that pounding on the glass would scare them away, they didn't bat an eye. Sadly, my flip flops are beyond repair, and they were my favorite pair! This has not helped my relationship with these critters improve. So if anybody knows a good way to kill a raccoon once it's trapped, let us know. We'd like something as humane as killing a raccoon can be.

Halloween has started early for us this year, and will continue in full force through the week! We kicked off the week this morning with a halloween party at the church put on by a few of the Moms in the the playgroup. I took a few pictures of Ethan in his superman costume. I wish he could talk, because I'm sure he's going to be wondering why he's wearing his costume nearly every day this week for a party :)
I'm also including a picture of the pumpkins we carved tonight. Nate's has the face, and mine has the stars.

Nate & I found lots of pictures on our cell phones that needed to be put on the computer, so here are a few of them. One is of Ethan wearing Nate's bike helmet, and another wearing Nate's earmuffs. He likes to copy Nate :)
The rest are pictures of our trip to the pumpkin patch in Portland a few weekends ago with Grandma Davis. It was really fun, they had a little train that we rode out to the pumpkin patch and back in again. There were also pony rides and face painting booths... the carnival kid in me was very happy :)

These are more pictures... Ethan wearing his new rain boots around the deck and backyard (they're a little big, so it's funny to watch him try to keep them on as he climbs up and down the stairs!) and pictures from a nearby park that we went to a few times over the summer because it had fun toys that squirt water.
